The two main types of Honeydew melons are different in color. The white honeydew melons are white-skinned and smooth with a pale green pulp. They are naturally high in sugar content. On the other hand, the yellow honeydew melons come with golden yellow skin and green flesh.

Coming from a Middle Eastern origin, they have been cultivated since ancient times and were regarded as a sacred food by the Egyptians because of their juicy sweetness.

Dewlightful Honeydew Melon

These melons are about six to six and a half inches round. Have a light green smooth flesh and have a sugar content of between thirteen to sixteen percent.

Tam Dew Melon

The pale to brilliant orange flesh beneath the surface is thick, dense, watery, and crisp. Honeyloupe melons have a mild floral undertone and are aromatic and sweet.

The variety is a multi-generational cross of honey ball melon, Honeydew, and muskmelon that was created to combine the best qualities of each parent. Honeyloupe melons were developed for commercial and consumer markets, and growers and home gardeners liked them for their disease resistance, sweet flavor, and smooth, soft consistency.

Bailan Melon

It comes with white skin, and the flesh is pale green or white. The Bailan melon is a well-known melon farmed near Lanzhou, the provincial capital of Gansu, in the People’s Republic of China.

The Bailan melon includes bioactive compounds (BC) such as polyphenols, carotenoids, and fatty acids as a melon species. It is sweet and rich in Vitamin C and protein.

The skin is light to pale green with a smooth and taut firmness, and the variety is often smaller than other nectarine cultivars. The flesh is also pale green, dense, watery, and succulent beneath the surface, encasing a big, dark brown pit.
